If Briles stuck around until halftime of Friday’s game, he was treated to quite the spectacle courtesy of Rice’s Marching Owl Band, appropriately nicknamed the MOB:

The first image shows Rice’s band making the Roman numerals “IX” (the band is facing away from the person taking the photo), which references three ongoing Title IX lawsuits against Baylor. The open star could be a possible reference to former Baylor president and chancellor Kenneth Starr, who was removed from those positions in the wake of the scandal.
The dig certainly didn’t sit well with at least one Baylor fan:
All of this, of course, is a nod to the school’s heavily publicized sexual assault scandal, which included Bears football players and resulted in Briles’ dismissal.
At least six female Baylor students’ reported allegations that they were raped or assaulted by Bears football players from 2009 through April 3, 2016.
