Rick Jeanneret To Call Sabres Game On Saturday Then Let It Rip

The 72-year-old Jeanneret will work one period on Saturday against Toronto, and more should be coming soon after, he told the Buffalo News:

Jeanneret was diagnosed during the offseason and says he’s cancer-free. Doing play-by-play when the Sabres are stuck in their end for 90 seconds will be a cakewalk.

By that, he means he plans to do a full game for the Thanksgiving Eve home game with Winnipeg on Nov. 26.

“I’ll be doing cartwheels if I can do them,” said Jeanneret of the game Thanksgiving Eve. “I’m all gung ho. The only thing that concerns me is my voice. There is a fatigue factor… Mentally now I’m ready to roll.”
