Samu is a legend in his own right, having filled in for Sika (Roman Reigns’ father) during the Wild Samoan era in the 80s, as well as teaming with his cousin Rikishi as the Samoan Swat Team and later the Headshrinkers in the 90s.
Eventually WWE did send him out an invite, but by that point the family was already said to be ticked off. It’s not clear whether it was simply an oversight or if there was another reason behind it.
There were also conflicting reports that the family were annoyed that WWE changed Reigns winning the title at the last minute.
