Atanu looked in fine fettle as he started with a perfect 10, followed by a 9 and then another 10 in his third shot to take his total to 29. On the other hand, Muktan fired 9, 7 and 10, which meant that the Indian won the set and got the 2 set-points.
Muktan started the second set with a 9 and Atanu followed it up with a 10. The Nepali, in his second shot, got a 7 and the Indian extended his lead with a 9. Muktan was only able to score an 8 on his last shot in the set and Atanu scored another 10 to win it and take a 4-0 lead.
In the third set, Muktan started with an 8, which was followed by a 10 from Atanu. The Nepali got his first 10 of the match in his next shot but Atanu did not hold back and got another 10. Muktan could only manage an 8 in his next shot and the Indian archer finished with another 10 to take the set and the match with it.
The Indian will be playing his round-of-32 match at 8.58 IST.
